Now Hiring: Live-In Houseparent

A Unique Career with Meaning

We are currently accepting applications for the Live-In Residential Supervisor (Houseparent) position. This is more than a job—it’s a chance to directly impact the life of every child who walks through our doors.

As a Houseparent, you will live on-site and serve as a caregiver, mentor, and role model to residents ages 9–18. You’ll provide a structured, supportive environment while receiving salary, room and board, transportation, and built-in time off with support from our team.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day care, emotional support, and structure for residents
  • Assist with daily routines, including hygiene, meals, and homework
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and nurturing home environment
  • Prepare meals and administer/document medications
  • Transport residents to school, appointments, or activities (using TLC vehicle)
  • Plan and participate in recreational and leisure activities
  • Document progress and support compliance with all state and DCF requirements
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with residents and their families

Qualifications

We’re looking for someone who is warm, responsible, and ready to make a difference. The ideal candidate will bring:

Skills and Qualities

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Empathy, patience, and a positive outlook
  • Ability to model respectful behavior and establish healthy boundaries
  • Emotional and physical stamina (must be able to lift up to 50 lbs)
  • Commitment to teamwork and creating a safe environment
  • Willingness to be part of a close-knit, mission-driven team

Required Credentials

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Social Work, Psychology, or related field
  • Substantial childcare or youth services experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Ability to pass background check and fingerprinting
  • DCF Medication Administration Certification (or willingness to obtain)
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (within 6–12 months of hire)
